Queen's View & The Whangie Car Park
WHERE WE'RE MEETING
We're heading to the beautiful Queen's View for stunning views over Loch Lomond and then tackling The Whangie, a unique geological formation that feels like walking through a giant crack in the rocks! This is a fantastic, accessible walk perfect for fresh air and fun.
Meeting Point:
Queen's View & The Whangie Car Park on the A809

Parking: This is charged parking (bring card or cash).
Of note: Please plan accordingly and use facilities before we start.
A group chat will be made approx. 1 week before the event and you can co-ordinate car sharing within the chat if you wish.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
We’re hiking the iconic Queen’s View to see Loch Lomond before exploring the dramatic, rocky pass of The Whangie—a unique geological formation that feels like walking through a giant crack in the rocks! This route offers incredible scenery without the intensity of a major climb.
From the Queen's View, expect sweeping views over Loch Lomond and the mountainous surrounding landscape.
We’ll be taking the main path—a rewarding and scenic route perfect for socialising and enjoying the outdoors.
WHAT TO EXPECT -
🥾 Distance: 4.5km / 2.75 miles (round trip)
⛰️ Ascent: 300 metres
⏱️ Duration: Around 1.5 - 2 hours
💪 Difficulty: Beginner-friendly, moderate gradient
🪨 Terrain: Good hill path all the way — but can be muddy/slippy after rain
📸 Highlight: Exploring the dramatic rocky pass of The Whangie!
This is a slow-paced, supportive group walk—not a race. We’ll take lots of breaks, enjoy the views, and support each other to the top, all fitness levels welcome 💖
Once we’ve completed the walk, there will be the option to have lunch in a cosy café/pub nearby. This will be d arranged in the group chat.

Your NOMA host is not a qualified walking instructor, they are merely there to accommodate the event. You participate at your own risk and are solely responsible for your own safety. In the event of adverse weather, the host may cancel or abandon the walk at any point, please respect their decision.
